Children orphanage of Viharamahadevi

Our Lions club provided 79 lunch packs for the children at Vihara Maha Devi orphanage today to celebrate Lion Mullakanda's birthday. Club advisor CCP Lion Senadeera also participated in this event.

Project 2
Compassion in the Storm

When torrential rains and severe cyclonic storms battered the entire island, the Lions Club of Biyagama, alongside fellow Lions, stepped forward in solidarity to launch a crucial disaster relief mission. Risking their own lives, our members worked tirelessly on the ground to support affected communities. We witnessed firsthand the immense hardships faced by our brothers and sisters in Mabima, Bollagala (near the Kelani River), Biyagama, Malwana, and the Biyagama Free Trade Zone (Zone A), as well as several surrounding villages. From the initial response to the final phase of relief operations, the senior members of the Lions Club of Biyagama led from the front. We extend our deepest, heartfelt gratitude to Lion Saminda Abeygunawardena and all the dedicated Lions who exemplified the true spirit of Lionism through this exceptional service.

Project 4
Restoring Hope

Led by the Lions Club of Biyagama, another massive humanitarian project was successfully completed to support communities affected by the recent heavy rains. In a powerful collaboration across Lions Clubs International District 306 D2, the Lions Club of Lysterfield (Melbourne), Lions Club of Biyagama, Lions Club of Biyagama Vocational, and the Leo Club of Biyagama Alliance joined forces to uplift over 200 displaced school children (Grades 1 to 13) from Biyagama, Mabima, Kelaniya, and Yabaraluwa. The initiative provided the children with essential school supplies and textbooks, along with breakfast, lunch, and desserts. To help heal their minds from the trauma of the disaster, a special musical entertainment session was also organized, bringing smiles back to their faces.

Project 4
Serving the Community

Led by the Lions Club of Biyagama and in collaboration with several fellow Lions Clubs, a massive "Bath Dansela" (Community Rice Almsgiving) was successfully held at the LCVTC premises in Biyagama. Operating in a spirit of unity and fellowship, the project provided delicious, high-quality meals to nearly 5,000 people. We extend our deep appreciation to the President of LCVTC, Lion Nimal Senadheera, for his leadership. Special thanks also go to Lion Mahesh Hakpitiya and Lion Mullakanda representing the Lions Club of Biyagama Vocational, along with senior members Lion Ajith Korala, Lion Lekha Korala, Lion Susantha, Lion Saminda, and Lion Thusitha. We are also deeply honored by the guidance of District Governor Lion Mahesh Katulanda and incoming leader Lion Diluka Mahawatta. The presence and support of all attendees made this exemplary project a powerful source of strength for our community.
